Some good gay news

According to a new poll, 55% of people support civil unions for homosexuals. I just wanted to point that out and say that the zeitgeist is shifting, and I'm glad I'm on the right side.

  • That is good news, I guess. The poll says that "55 percent of U.S. voters favor allowing same sex couples to form legally recognized civil unions - providing the same rights as heterosexual married couples in health insurance, inheritance and pension coverage." I wonder how many of the 55% would answer the same if the questions was just "Do you think same sex couples should be able to marry and enjoy the same rights as heterosexual married couples?" Is there a hung-up on the word marriage or is there some rights they think marriages should have that civil unions should not?
